To all anti-CCP, TAKE NOTE!

2008/Aug/9

Ok, yesterday, it is a historical moment for all Chinese as the Olympics are  ‘once in blue moon’ occurance in China. Unfortunately, due to the CCP rule, the Olympics has been critisised by it’s critics as a propaganda tool for the Party to ‘legitimise’ its rule on China. It may be true. Unfortunately, organizations like the pro-Tibet’s Student for a Free Tibet supporting a ‘Free, Independent Tibet’ irks non-tibetian chinese who wants to see their country strong, democratic, that sufficiently safeguard human right’s and a unified nation. As a result, they support the party temporary due to anger and they might agree with CCP that ‘without CCP, there will be no new china’(which is a popular song during Cultural Revolution) and ‘if CCP falls, China will be in peril’(a common argument to maintain CCP rule, the peril refers to Free Tibet’s & disorganization). Furthermore, the chinese thinks that the West has intention to ’split’ China under the name of ‘human rights, democracy, & self-determination’. As the Chinese counterdemonstrate, the West thinks that they are brainwashed by the Party. Actually, that not entirely true. Let me explain one by one. The chinese obviously love their country, hoping that China will be strong just like the days of Han & Tang dynasty and Kangxi-Qianlong era. Their opposition to secessionism is genuine and some knew the arguments of ethnic seccesionism, which is Cultural Revolution destroy their culture(mostly who’s culture?), CCP totalitarianism which kills many people(again, mostly is which ethnic group?). The only brainwashed aspects that i see from them is the CCP version of Anti-Japanese War, Chinese Civil War and ‘loving CCP is loving China’ (which unfortunately the seccesionist prove it true, due to the party’s arguments).

The nontibetian chinese viewpoint

They view tibetians as a culturally unique group of China. The CCP does invest a lot in Tibet, to improve Tibet’s economy, and as a minority, they are exempted from 1 child policy, easy entrance to universities, ethic autonomy and special representation in Parliament, just to name a few. Therefore, when people say the Tibetian are oppresed, the nontibetian, especially, the Han Chinese will reacted angrily saying they(tibetians) are treated as 1st class citizens, if they are oppresed, then we are more oppresed, and other such slogans. They(Han Chinese) basically sees themselves more oppresed than the minorities, no freedom, under dictatorship, and worse, the West wants us to split under the banner of Human rights and democracy. When anyone shouted ‘Free Tibet’, they would find it hard to cooperate with the Tibetians to overthorw the party. The CCP may use these chances to potray chinese dissidents as a ‘traitor’ to China for ‘conspiring with foreign enemies to spliting the motherland under the notion of human rights and democracy’ and their efforts gone down to the drain. However, there is a miracle. Now there is Union of Chinese Nationalists(www.uocn.org), equlvalent to Taiwan’s Pan Blue Alliance, are fighting for Human rights, Democracy and what eludes the Chinese, UNITY(Yeah!). As we know ROC, aka Taiwan flag and KMT flag is banned in China, to prevent possible dissent to CCP. Due to the growing strength of pro-Taiwan independence Pan-Green, which Chen Shui-bian won the Presidency twice, the CCP acknowledges KMT’s contribution in  Second Sino-Japanese War more and painted them as a patriots fighting against seccesionism. This is how UOCN is born. If China is a democracy, like Taiwan , prosper, like Taiwan and it defeats seccesionist DPP power base, then everyone want to restore the Republic of China in the mainland. Thats the only way everyone overcome CCP. So only the chinese can overthrow their leaders. Outsiders can’t.

Btw, I would like to say that don’t boycott Olympics due to CCP. At least give face to the chinese. Don’t organise anti-CCP activities on Lunar New Year(it’s the only time everyone get together) & Ramadhan month (its hard to fast for half day, therefore don’t upset them). The best time to oppose CCP is the Mooncake festival. Thats when Zhu Yuanzhang organise a campaign to overthrow Yuan Dynasty, and become the Ming Emperor, with the title Hongwu.

2008 Olympics Protest

2008/Apr/24

This edition of Olympics has become the most intersting because of activist protesting China(‘PRC’) handling of protest in Tibet, and its poor human rights record. There are some chinese dissidents are unhappy with their current political system. In 2004, there is a quit CCP campaign(ninecommentaries.com) to pressure the Communist Party to make political reform.

From an ordinary han chinese viewpoint, the protest grew violent and therefore needs to be suppressed. However, activist claimed there is agent provocateur, instigated by CCP. This situation has given CCP political support out of fear of ethnic seccesion.

The ethnic Tibetians claimed there is discrimination although the CCP government gives them preferential treatment to them as minorities(which in turn alienate the Han Chinese) like ethnic autonomy and exemption from 1 child policy. There must be something wrong in Tibet where the central government does not see. It is estimated about 2000 people escaped to Dhramasala (where H.H. Dalai Lama resides) and we must ask ourselves why the Tibetians willing to be a 2nd class citizen in India(Himachal Pradesh) than be a 1st class citizen in China(as a minority group)? Is there something wrong with their political system? Is it due to poor human rights? Then it seems that all ethnic group suffer from poor human rights.

BTW, its not proper to politicise the Olympics.

Therefore, if the chinese want to change the situation, they(Pro-democratic and chinese minorities interest group ) should cooperate to form a united front without much direct support from foreign NGO. A support from Hong Kong and Macau based group would be perfect.
